1st Vice President, Joe Guerra started the meeting at approximately 7PM, welcomed everyone. |
2. |
There were no minutes presented from the previous meeting. |
3. |
The treasurer’s report given was $6,166.92. |
4. |
Mr. Guerra asked about the Christmas Party at Juan Hernandez’s house. Mr. Al Flores and Mrs. Rosalva Aulenbacher reported that they enjoyed the party and had a good time. |

Mr. Guerra talked about the outlook for this coming year and mentioned that we need to recruit new members and asked that we encourage more people to come to our meetings and become members. |
6. |
Mr. Guerra asked for information on the conference which will be held here in Houston this year. Mr. Manuel Flores gave us information on the Hilton- Hobby, and Marriott- IAH hotels which he and Mr. Guerra considered to be good options. Mrs. Loretta Williams suggested that we contact Mr. Robert Gallegos of Project Stars concerning acquiring a bus for our tour. |

Mr. Guerra mentioned that there would be an officers meeting Saturday, January 30th, at 10AM at Kuko’s Restaurant at 3707 Irvington. |

NEW BUSINESS:
Mr. Jerry Nevarez passed out the new HGS calendar for 2010 and a sample cover page for the conference information. He also gave us a Price Comparison Chart of the expenses for the conferences for the past four years. Mr. Nevarez also mentioned that the President’s meeting would be held in February.
Mr. Guerra and Mr. Nevarez talked about working on changes to the webpage.
Mr. Guerra mentioned that the articles for the new journal needed to be in before the conference. |
