The Hispanic Genealogical Society was founded in March 1981, for the purpose of promoting genealogical research into the origins of the Mexican-American and Hispanic population of Houston. The sole goal of the organization is to explore, develop, and augment present genealogical resources and to make them more readily available to its membership, as well as to the community. Membership in the society makes members partners in a unique opportunity to preserve our Hispanic family heritage.
